A stop-you-in-your-tracks kitchen that at once feels contemporary and at home in a 200-year-old building.
The Alistair Fleming showroom is a Grade II-listed historic building. The space posed some interesting design challenges: there is no natural light, and the ceiling is very low, accentuated by original beams. Designer Ollie Clark responded with an unusual concept - squeezing every element as thin as possible. While most worktops range between 20-30mm, Dekton’s manufacturing process - which uses 25,000 tons of uniform pressure - allows for strong, slim counter tops at just 12mm. The final result is a stop-you-in-your-tracks kitchen that at once feels contemporary and at home in a 200-year-old building.
